When I was coming out of high school and into the real world, any Honda Civic that was anything other than stock was immediately the target of full criticism: “rice rockets”, the fart-can muffler-equipped boom box on wheels, these Civics were getting popular with the kinds of kids I went to school with who thought most any American muscle car must be a joke because their dads owned them. As I’ve grown and matured, I’ve come to terms with one thing: while there are still an obnoxious amount of all-show, don’t bother going Civics with drift charms and stickers aplenty, there are some sincerely wicked, stripped down, and boosted little bastards that can rip nearly anything that will line up next to it a new one, swarm-of-hornets exhaust note and all. This is one of those kinds of Hondas. Fitted with the V6 engine from an Odyssey minivan, a turbo the size of Lohnes’ head, and gutted of all but the most necessary of weight, this is the kind of Civic you should fear. How badass is it? Watch when it lines up against the Hellcat Charger at the Pikes Peak Airstrip Attack event. The Hellcat doesn’t need an introduction…but the owner’s ego might need an ice pack after it’s all said and done. Ouch.
